Today let’s talk about “shiny things”.  You know the things that distract you and keep you from focusing on the activities that would actually move your business forward.  This is a key element to your success blueprint.

YOU must figure out what the critical activities are for your business. Depending on your business model these things will be different, but they generally boil down to a couple of things that you should be doing daily.

IF you are blogging, it will probably be adding quality content and building backlinks.

If you are a membership site owner, it’s probably adding content, answer questions, driving traffic.

If you are selling an ebook, it might be finding new affiliates, driving traffic.

As you can see one of the basic things that drive your business online is traffic. Pretty much no matter what you are doing online you are going to have to have traffic to see success. This is a whole new lesson, but just determine what your critical business activities are and make sure you do them.

Consistently, repeatedly, regularly, religiously.

They are your bread and butter.  This may take some serious internet marketing help, not only to figure out what those activities are, but how to stay focused and consistent. This is where an accountability partner comes in very handy. Having someone you are accountable to (besides yourself) can be very empowering. You can find an accountability partner on forums, or any other social area. Just ask. I’m sure there’s other people who are looking as well.
